Where to Bike Chicago: Best Biking in City and Suburbs

Major social issues such as global warming, increasing petrol prices, childhood obesity, concerns about air quality and traffic congestion are all contributing to cycling’s increasing popularity.

Governments at local and national level and across the globe are increasing their funding of bicycle paths and facilities.

But the best bicycle path in the world is of no use unless people know where it is. With this in mind Where to Bike Chicago features 72 great recreational including 27 traffic-free rides for kids.

The app is aimed at recreational cyclists, including families with children looking for something to do on the weekend and mature age cyclists looking for fitness and fun.

Each ride is graded in difficulty, has a detailed full color map and showing road surfaces and points of interests. There are also interesting facts about the area, tips about where to eat and drink, side trips and how to get there.

Author Greg Borzo has personally surveyed all of the rides on his bicycle using a Garmin GPS unit to collect data for the mapping and altitude profiles.
